(roughly the mass of the eggplant I am holding)
How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 19lbs *sigh*
Maternity clothes? oh yes...I can make some non-maternity shirts work but the number is getting fewer and fewer with each day.
Stretch marks? Nothing new, no. However, my belly button has a weird circle around it. Adam and I think it is the skin that is normally in and never sees the sun moving outward...
Sleep: For a couple of weeks I was having a really hard time with this. I have always slept on my stomach but as my belly grows this is no longer an option for me so I am ONLY able to sleep on my side (on your back supposedly suffocates the mom). Unfortunately, my hips were ANGRY about the side sleeping. Every single hour I would wake up in pain and have to switch sides so that each hip hurt equally and I could try to fall back asleep. This last week it got even worse as I wasn't really able to fall asleep again until I stayed awake a couple hours doing stretches, etc. at 2am. Rikku was loving having me awake with her during her prime time but my body and mind were starting to lose it. Then on Saturday, Adam bought me a memory foam topper for our mattress to see if that would help. Oh. my. goodness. I got more sleep Saturday night than I probably have this last week combined. Even though I am not 100% pain free, it is significantly better and I only really wake for pee breaks. Hopefully, this will continue to be my saving grace.
Best moment this week: Our good friends just had their baby and she did it exactly how she wanted to. I am so happy for them and although I mourn the loss of my pregnant friend (she has been pregnant the entire time I have been), I look forward to the words of wisdom and comfort that she will be able to impart as my final 13 weeks pass.
Miss Anything? Being able to paint my toe nails or shave without trouble...My belly is just so hard it won't move out of the way!
Pregnancy Woes: Now that we have solved my hip problems for the time being, I am doing pretty darn good!
Movement: Most definitely. He moves pretty much all day long.
Food cravings: Claussen hearty dill pickle slices...nothing else will do and red meat. I was actually heartbroken the other day because Adam ate the last of my pickles the other night during dinner. Luckily we biked to the store for a refill before my next pickle emergency.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still think raw white meat is just nasty but it is getting better.
Have you started to show yet: Oh yes...But I am working on creating a simple maternity wardrobe to get me through my final trimester without having to resort to garbage bags. I have always had a better day when I feel good about what I am wearing and that hasn't changed just because I am pregnant. In fact, I am taking pride in the compliments I receive on my "bump look".
Gender prediction: Boy...a certain Ultrasound picture left no doubt.
Labor Signs: Way too early to have labor signs but I have started having Braxton Hicks contractions. They don't hurt at all and sometimes I barely notice them but my abdomen gets super tight and then releases again randomly.
Belly Button in or out? In...but it looks like it is venturing to new territory at the front...
Wedding rings on or off? Off. With this heat my hands have been swelling pretty badly lately. When I am not super hot I can wear it but I just decided to not deal with it and bought a simple/cheap band that is a little bit too big for me and will tell the Judgy McJudgersons that I am married.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! I absolutely adore being pregnant. <---remember I said this as the woes of the final months start setting in.
Looking forward to: Adam and I start our Childbirth classes on Wednesday (8/29)! I know that some people don't enjoy them or get much out of them but I KNOW that I have a lot to learn to take care of this life I am carrying so I am looking forward to the chance to learn a ton as well as have someone to ask questions of.
