31 Weeks and Jason!

Desmond is as many weeks as Jason is years!
Not too much new on the baby front (no news is good news!). Desmond is doing great and moving around a ton. I have been able to hear his little heart beat with my ear pressed against Amanda's stomach most of the time. He is a little mover though, so usually I just hear him squirming around. In just 9 weeks he'll be squirming in our arms. As for the measurements, Desi is now 16.18 inches from crown to heel and 3.31 lbs.

This week marks our final childbirth prep class. It's been pretty fun to hear some of the other "war stories" from the other partners in the class. After listening to some of the other dads vent about the "mood swings" their wives have exhibited, I must say that I feel pretty lucky. Thanks for being awesome, wife!

(Uncle) Jason came up for a visit this weekend as well. Our bromance was in full bloom once again: the birds were chirping, the grass was green, and all was well with the world. We had a great time together, just hanging out around the house, walking on some of the trails, and Jason and I also ran in the first ever Muds to Suds race in Ferndale. I'm pretty addicted to mud/obstacle runs; it was great to finally have one so close to home. All in all, it was a success, although Jason needs to train before our next race so that he can keep up :) Official race times are pending, but I think we did pretty well. We're hoping that Jason will be able to visit again after Desi has escaped from the womb. I have a feeling we'll want to show Desmond off to the world, and my best friend is no exception.
