Holy cow! We have officially hit the 2 month countdown. Seems like forever and no-time at all. Of course I have been waiting for 8 months already so what is another 2 at this point. We can do this!
Anyway, now that we are at 32 weeks, Desi is supposedly 16.69in long and 3.75lbs or about the weight of the pineapple I am holding in our picture:
Today I also had a doctor's appointment to make sure everything is progressing normally and that both the baby and I are doing well. Well, the good news is Desi's heart is still beating quite strong and healthy and is starting its slight slow down as it matures and prepares for birth. YAY! Unfortunately, I am measuring big again at 34 1/2, which is 2 1/2 weeks ahead of where I should be. This means I have been scheduled for an Ultrasound at my next appointment to check his size. I can't help but be hopeful that maybe it is just fluctuations in amniotic fluid since I wasn't measuring quite that big last time but we will see.
I was also diagnosed with Pregnancy Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. For the last couple of weeks my hands have been super sore, my grip is failing and it has gotten to the point where it hurts to write. Ergo...I get to wear a wrist brace for the rest of my pregnancy to help keep it from getting any worse. Honestly, I am still feeling great (sleeping pretty well, no back pain, walking still - even though I lose my breath a little easier now, I'm not throwing up, very little heartburn, etc.) so if this is the worst of the third tri-mester woes I will take it. This hasn't been a perfect pregnancy (do those even exist?) but it HAS been relatively easy and I am feeling mighty lucky because I have pretty much enjoyed each and every moment of it.
Upcoming Events:
Sunday, I have my first baby shower put on by my mom in Olympia for family down there. Should be a good time and I am very thankful to her and my grandma for hosting this for me. I am also spending the weekend with my parents in Hood Canal. Hood Canal is such a nostalgic, relaxing place for me so it will be nice to just relax and take a few deep breaths as we approach D-Day.
Monday, October 15th is Adam's 27th birthday! We also have the above mentioned Ultrasound that day, so Desi will be able to wish his dad a Happy Birthday as well. :)
Then on October 21st, I have my second baby shower up here in Bellingham for friends and family in this area. My friend's Colleen and Melanie are putting it on for me but they are keeping everything pretty darn secretive so I am excited to see what they have come up with. This one is also a co-ed shower so Adam will get to bask in a little of the baby attention as well.
And that almost wraps up 1/2 of our time left waiting!
