For the sake of honesty and wanting to record an accurate record of pregnancy, I am going to share some somewhat disheartening things that popped up recently. Let me preface this by saying the doctors are not worried about Desmond and as far as we can tell he is perfectly healthy still. Ok, here goes...
Last week I started coughing up blood in the mornings. It wasn't a lot and only in the mornings but Adam and I figured we better call the doctor just in case. After relaying all of my symptoms, the doctor said that he doesn't think anything is wrong with Desmond since I don't have the right symptoms to suggest something super worrying and I don't have TB or anything crazy like that but it still isn't good to be coughing up blood. Therefore, he put me on one round of antibiotics just in case. Of course, the doctor wouldn't perscribe anything to me that would harm the baby but I did my research anyway just in case and the drug he gave me has no worrying statistics anywhere like some of them do so I started taking my perscription. The Rx said to take 2 pills on Thursday, then one for the next four days and that is it. Thankfully, it is a short round of meds so I won't be ingesting them for an extended period of time. And there is good news, no blood has come up the last two mornings. At my 24 week appointment, August 6, the doctor will give me the once over to make sure I am 100% good again but I am feeling much better already with only one more pill to go. Hopefully, it was just a little bug in my system that has been taken care of and I can go back to being a perfectly heathly pregnant lady. I will keep you all posted as things develop.
Anyway, back to things that are less serious. Here is my 22 week photo! Desmond is growing quite a bit now-a-days and has almost reached a full pound! According to averages, he is roughly 10.94in and 15.17oz give or take.
Adam picked this week's photo :)
Finally, Adam and I filled out daycare paperwork for Desi (yes, we have to do it this early as spots are already filling up everywhere for infant care...crazy huh?). It was such a surreal experience writing "Desmond Drake" in the name field. It is like he is actually a little person now! Weird! In just 4 1/2 months, I will be filling out name fields while actually holding said little person. Can't wait... :)
