What a week!

Anyone who has talked to me recently knows how much I have been looking forward to this week. Finding out the health and gender of our baby has been a milestone for us so for the last 5 months, I have been eagerly waiting its arrival. I just didn't know how wonderful this WHOLE week would be.

  1. On Monday, we found out that our baby is in perfect health as far as the doctors can tell. As we went through the Ultrasound pictures with the doctor, the only words out of her mouth was perfect and normal and can I just say how wonderful that is to hear?
  2. We found out our baby is a beautiful baby boy.
  3. We had the gender reveal party that actually went really well and was a lot of fun to host.
  4. I have been feeling the baby move more and more lately. The doctors have been telling me that he is quite the mover and shaker but I had no basis for believing them until now. He is moving all day long now!
And now for the latest amazing thing to grace us this week...

Adam felt the baby move too!

During our Ultrasound when the technician felt Desmond kick, Adam got a little sad that he hadn't felt it yet..almost jealous. Of course he didn't dwell on it because Adam never dwells on anything bad but I could tell that he wanted to experience that and get a physical sign that Desmond was alive and well. So last night when I was feeling him kicking around really well and he showed no signs of stopping, I brought Adam over. I showed him where Desmond was kicking and at first he put his hand on my belly sort of half-assed. He didn't think it would work but was humoring me. Then it happened. Desmond kicked RIGHT under his hand. The look on Adam's face said he felt it but I asked if he did to let him know that is was indeed the baby. He responded with "well, maybe...It was so light but I think so. Let's try again!" This time his hand was firmly on my stomach...no half-assery here! Sure enough within a minute or so, little Desmond said hello to his father. Adam was so thrilled that he immediately leaned down, kissed my belly and told the baby he heard him loud and clear.

I know I am a hormonal mess right now but I couldn't help but get a little watery-eyed.
